Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra Maria Lara the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16, Alexandra played the leading role in several TV dramas. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. The film won an Oscar and won critical and commercial popularity. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Alexandra was engaged in numerous noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. These include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as well as French history mini-series Napoleon. Other roles she has held include being juror at each of The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
