Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 1982. Maggie Grace is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school when her parents split up to move into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Even though she had financial difficulties, her 2001 debut was in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 as well as sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) along with her. Grace was a co-star alongside Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, decided to make the move into the world of film. She also appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. The same character was played by Grace in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace performed the role of Shannon on the finale and in two additional episodes. She also appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith, who is a fan and muse of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began in the teen years with minor roles in several of his films. She also appeared with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in an Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2006, she starred in a number of commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However, it was her role in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child earned her nomination in an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. The following years, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. She also played a Secret Service Agent in White House Down, an action-packed thriller released in 2013, a musician in Frank (2014), and her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a film that debuted in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a writer and director in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
